
HAES Scholarship
Overview The purpose of the $1,000.00 scholarship is to encourage further study across a variety of disciplines that incorporate Health At Every Size (HAES) tenets and principles.
An undergraduate or graduate student from an accredited academic institution, who utilizes Health at Every Size (HAES) tenets in their studies and research are eligible. They must also be a US citizen or have the legal right to work in the United States.
The selection process for the scholarship will be governed by NAAFA's scholarship committee composed of experts in a variety of disciplines. This committee will review and recommend to the NAAFA board the recipient selected for the scholarship.
Scholarship application must include in one (1) pdf file that can not exceed 2 MB in size:
- Description of Research Project (750 words max) Please include: Purpose, Methodology, Outcomes, Evaluation & Next Steps to pursue.
- A letter of Recommendation from a college professor and/or advisor.
All applications must be recieved by May 2nd and only the winner will be notified by June 15th, those not selected will be not be notified
The recipient is required to be present at the NAAFA awards ceremony on Saturday, August 4th to be recognized as a scholarship recipient and attend the NAAFA HAES Summit on Monday, August 6th, where they will also have their research highlighted at the Poster Reception that evening. After the poster session they will receive the monetary portion of the scholarship.
NAAFA will cover travels expenses for the recipient (up to $400*).
NAAFA reserves the right to determine the allocation of those expenses (airfare, hotel, etc.)
*$200 for scholarship recipients in California, $400 for scholarship recipients outside of California
